User Testing & Troubleshooting

For larger web projects involving a user system, user testing is an absolutely critical component in ensuring your project's success. Once the functionality is built, everything needs to be reviewed by different types of users using different hardware and software, requiring dozens of testers. This involves coordinating the distribution of testing instructions, gathering feedback from all these testers, collating bugs into a bug report, suggestions for improvement in a separate report.

Sample testing plan for a 20 page website, total estimated cost $1,300:

1. Week One: Plan Project Requirements
   Develop requirements / measurements list (eg., must be user friendly) - estimated 1.0 hours $100


2. Week Two: Coordinate User Tests & Schedule
   Review website or website plan, create testing instructions & testing schedule - estimated 2.0 hours $300


3. Week Three: Implement User Testing
   One Satdaya consultant performs user tests, tests all links comprehensively, provides feedback and suggestions for improvement - estimated 4.0 hours $200


4. Week Four: Assess & Improve User Testing
   Coordinate: Revise user tests based on feedback from consultant - estimated 2 hrs $200


5. Week Five: Coordinate User Testing
   Distributes user tests to third party testers. 10 third party testers get paid for 2 hours each at $15/hr - total $300


6. Week Six: Create a report
   Collate all bugs, feedback, suggestions for improvement into a report - estimated 2 hrs $200
