How much’s a site?
You'll get long and short answers depending on whom you ask that question. Here's a short answer you'd get from us; "A website can cost you as little as $20 and as much as $20,000 or more." It all depends on two things - what you know and what you want. What you don't know could cost you. What you want... Could cost you too, depending on what you know or don't know. New Server & Secure Emails
This news is for clients who host their websites with Studios. In the first week of December, we finally moved to a dedicated server. We used to be on a shared server serving up 1000's of other websites concurrently. Our dedicated server is a full computer sporting an Intel Core2 Duo 2.13 GHz with 2 GB RAM that focuses entirely on serving our 30+ websites. The result? Your websites and host-based emails will respond faster as there's a lot less interference from other websites that demand resources.
DeafAct - Expressing Art Through Theater
Satdaya Studios is proud to sponsor deafact.org. A new look, revised navigation and layout, as well as added vlog, social sharing, content management and e-commerce functions to handle ticket sales would make this website a powerful vehicle for this aspiring organization. These revisions are scheduled to begin soon.
Why plan a site?
To put it in layman terms, would you build a house without a floor plan? Any website, no matter how small, should be treated the same way; whether it's a few minutes making an outline or a few hours for a complete road map.
New Model & Website!
Satdaya is pleased to launch its brand new website and service model! After nearly five years of operating as HTMLaddicts, mom and pop shop, the business is making some major changes. First, the name HTMLaddicts had to go -- it was youthful and funky, but it was time to grow up. Second, the model has changed.
A New Service: Satdaya Studios
Originally, the company was a full services shop - "one stop shop" for every website owner, a firm consisting of full time staff working with a group of regular contractors. This limits the pool of talent available to work with. Also, with all services being handled in-house, including quality assurance, budget management, project management, schedule coordination, and other factors quickly drives up the price tag. Under the new model, the service Satdaya Studios offers consist mainly of consulting, planning, and coordination. The biggest difference is that we distribute requests for bids in our network and post them on specialized job boards, and then present the bids to the client, who may then choose to work directly with the third party or hire Satdaya to handle that end. This gives the client greater opportunity to be fully involved or reduce project management costs.
What’s it take to start a blog & vlog?
a series by Elise Whitworth PART ONE: taking the first step For years now, I have been talking about starting a blog and/or vlog, both as a professional and personally for friends and family. In fact, it's almost ridiculous that I, a professional web developer haven't started yet! If I can do things with software in minutes that take others hours of painstaking trial and error, a blog and/or a vlog should be easy for me. The problem is, I'm a perfectionist. When I imagine producing a vlog, I picture a high quality video with a good backdrop and lighting, myself perfectly polished signing perfect ASL, the video captioned. The script would be written and practiced beforehand. Then the video would have to be well edited with smooth transition between scenes and little pop ups of text. The sheer magnitude of the project becomes overwhelming. Just thinking about it makes me feel like taking a vacation already!
